About the Candidate

A Proven Leader for Hendrick Hudson

Daniel S. Saleem is a dedicated public servant committed to strengthening our community's schools. As a Specialist (SPC) in the United States Army, Dan brings proven leadership, discipline, and organizational expertise to every role. Currently pursuing a degree in political science and history at George Washington University, he combines academic rigor with practical experience in civic engagement.

An award-winning public speaker and community leader, Dan has held significant leadership positions in civilian and military environments. In these roles, he has demonstrated exceptional mediation and conflict resolution skills while advocating for the safety and dignity of others.

Dan is passionate about ensuring that all students have access to equitable, quality education and the support systems they deserve. With a background in both military service and higher education, he understands the importance of strong institutions, accountability, and student welfare—values that will guide his work on the school board.
